The gas pump is the first asset that our newly hired environment artists go through in their trial period.
Under the guidance of a training buddy, the task is to create a game-ready vintage gas pump (5k triangles +/- 10%) and two texture variants: A used but functional pump and one long-abandoned version.
Through this asset, the artists invest skill points on sub-D modelling good practices, efficient lowpoly geometry distribution, interesting silhouette creation, correct UV-ing techniques; meanwhile for texturing, skillpoints on good material definition, proper layering, contrast, composition, adding points of interest, story telling and more!
